Okay, it's been a few days, so I should probably write about how things are going. As I type this I'm preparing for my first day of classes tomorrow. I just got back from a meeting with my CA (Community Advisor) and my 'hall.' My floor is split up into two halls; the west side (my side) is about 90% guys, and the east is 90% girls (yay co-eds!). It was just "Hi my name is such-and-such" crap, and the CA went over some of the rules. He says they no longer want people burning insense/candles unless it's for religious purposes. Well, I just happen to like scented candles for freshening up my room. So I guess candles are a part of my religion now! That's one benefits to not subscribing to any one particular religion. ;-) My CA was really cool, and a lot of the people in my hall seem cool too. One guy actually said Weird Al was his favorite band! Another said his favorite was They Might Be Giants, and I can't argue with that, either.
One of the reasons I've resisted making any comments so far is that my feelings have fluctuated so much. When I was sitting in my unpacked room trying to get my ethernet card to work at 4am, I felt pretty shitty. Because of that I've decided to just leave it alone for now. I've really been looking forward to the fast connection, but I can settle for being a modem whore for the time-being. Right now, I'm feeling okay, though. Except for my floor, my room is clean (guess I need a vacuum cleaner!). I really like my huge desk, too. I wish my TV reception was better, but I'll live. But it just feels good in here, y'know? I came in my room and thought, "This isn't too bad after all..." But who knows tomorrow. Maybe one of my classes will suck or something. The campus book store still doesn't have the book I need for my writing class, so I guess I'll ask my prof tomorrow what I should do. But it's funny how my feelings about my future and college have shifted so much since friday. I hope it keeps on the up!
But like I said, after my broken TI-92 (which is getting repaired, BTW) and shit, I just can't deal with ethernet not working. I'll just have to wait for the on-demand MP3s. Although I am resisting the urge to quickly install Linux and see if it works on that, but I dunno. I gotta do some quick preparing for class tomorrow. Maybe I'll make some updates between classes. We'll see.
Oh, I hav to mention one last fucking hilarious thing! I was looking at my page-stats, and I noticed that one of my visitors came from Yahoo. Guess what the search term was? Phallus! For some reason it's no longer listed there...not sure why. But I just find that amusing. Some dork actually searched for the word 'phallus' on the internet! Maybe his/her intentions were purely scientific, but I doubt that...
